1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Truong Mai, who publishes apps under the studio name MxT APP ("we", "us" or "our"), for your use of 2FA Authenticator App - MFA for iPhone, iPad and Android (the "App", shown on your device as "Authenticator App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to the 2FA Authenticator App - MFA Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. The App

The App generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) for two-factor authentication, stores passwords and backup codes in an encrypted vault on your device, offers encrypted backups and, on iPhone and iPad, optional iCloud sync, and includes a private web browser. The App does not require an account. Features are described on the support page.

On iPhone and iPad, the App checks the App Store for newer versions. When a newer version is available, the App lets you know so you can get the latest security fixes. You can choose to update later.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on devices that you own or control (for the App Store version, Apple-branded devices, see section 4), for your personal or internal business use, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the App, except where the law expressly allows it.

4. Additional terms for Apple App Store users

  • Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Scope of license. Your license is limited to using the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App, as described on the support page. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
  • Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
  • Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Developer name and contact. The App is provided by Truong Mai (MxT APP). Questions, complaints or claims about the App should be sent to maixuantruongcvdev@gmail.com.
  • Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

5. Your vault and backups

  • Your 2FA setup keys, passwords and backup codes are stored encrypted on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud (iPhone and iPad). We cannot see them, and we cannot recover them if you lose your device, forget your app PIN, forget a backup passphrase or delete your data.
  • You are responsible for keeping a backup (iCloud Sync & Backup or an encrypted backup file) and for keeping the recovery codes each service gives you, so you do not lose access to your accounts.
  • Exports you make as images or CSV files are not encrypted. You are responsible for storing and deleting them safely.
  • The Password risks check on the Passwords tab only checks whether a password is weak, very common or reused within the App. It does not tell you whether a password has appeared in a data breach.

6. Private browser & third-party services

The App lets you open websites and lists names and logos of third-party services so you can recognize your accounts. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party websites or services, including their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Searches from the browser are performed by Google Search. Service names and logos belong to their owners, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

7. Acceptable use

Use the App only for lawful purposes and only for accounts you are authorized to access. Do not use the App to gain unauthorized access to any account, system or data, or to interfere with the App or the services it works with.

8. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, text and graphics (excluding third-party names and logos), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights to our names, logos or trademarks.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep the App secure and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that codes will be accepted by every service.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, access to accounts, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or USD 50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may end your license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 5 and 8 to 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
